How do I embed a screen shot?

I want to show main web pages for other campus sites, or other services online. Can I embed or load a screen shot?

Sure! What you need to do is take a screenshot and turn it into an image file (either .jpeg or .gif).

Here at Springshare, there are a few products we love for creating custom screen captures - in particular, we love:

  • Snagit - - this costs $49.95 (though at the time of this answer, there's a free "beta" version for Mac, also available from that page)
  • Jing - - Jing is free, and avaialble for both Windows and Mac. This is a great free product for screen captures, quick screen recording, and easy sharing. There's also a "pro" version available. For what you're doing, I would *highly* recommend using this product.

Once you've created your image file, you would then upload it to your LibGuides site using the image manager - just like any other image. :)
