The RSS Feed box-type is designed for feeds that load over standard ports (port #s 80, 443). If your RSS feed loads over a different port, there's an easy way to get things working - Feedburner

Google's Feedburner offers an easy way to standardize a feed:

  • Head to; log in with your Google credentials
  • Paste your feed under "Burn a Feed Right This Instant"; click Next
  • Give your feed a meaningful title and address (ie a "friendly" url); click Next
  • Click "Skip Directly to Feed Management" to save your feed
  • Copy your new friendly URL
  • Head back to LibGudies; Paste the friendly URL into the RSS feed box

By doing this, you're replicating the contents of the original feed, but in a format that's standards-compliant. :)
