I'd like to embed a YouTube video, but I don't want it to start at the beginning. Can I embed a video that starts at a specific time?

Yes! First, make sure you've created an Embedded Media & Widgets box for your video.

  • Navigate to the video you'd like to embed.
  • Click on the Share button - a URL will show up. Click on the Embed button below the URL.
  • Several options will appear below; you can change the size and border of the video if you would like. When you are done, copy the code in the box. (In the picture below, the code is highlighted in yellow.)
  • Make sure you know when you want your video to begin. You will need to change the video URL so that it reflects your time stamp.

For example, if we wanted the above video to start 28 seconds in, our code would look like this:

    <iframe width="560" height="349" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The start time is always added in seconds so to start a video at the 2 minute 12 second mark you would &start=132.

  • Paste this code into your Embedded Media & Widgets box, and save!

    3. Is it possible to adapt this a little and show the "latest" video from my channel?

    4. Hi, Mark,
There's a suggestion on this Google group to accomplish this by using the code for an embedded playlist. Create a playlist for your Uploaded videos, and your latest one should appear at the top.

You can search online to see how to embed a playlist--I am sure this will change from time-to-time.

      Good luck!
