You can use the API Utility to create an A-Z list of guides, or simply link out to the browse page in your system.

The browse page is /browse.php - so you'd just add that to the end of your LibGuides or CampusGuides URL.
For example, the Help guides browse link would be:

Using the API Utility

  • Tools > API Utility
  • Select API Data: List of guides/pages with links
    • Display Filter: Return guides that contain this term >>> Leave term field blank.
    • Number of Results: Leave blank.
    • Window Target: Choose your preference.
    • Display Format: Choose your preference. Examples are at the bottom of this page.
    • Include Description?: Choose your preference.
    • API Request Format: This is really your preference.
      • URL: Use the URL format to add the list to a page using an iframe, frame or web script. You can also use the URL in a Remote Script Box within LibGuides.
      • JavaScript: Use the JavaScript on any page that accepts HTML, including your Library web site, blog, course sites (Blackboard, Moodle, etc.), or in LibGuides.
  • Copy the code in the box at the bottom of the screen and put it wherever you want the data to display.

Adding API Code Into LibGuides

If you'd like to add this list into your Guides, you can add the code to either a Rich Text or a Remote Script box.

If you chose URL...

  • Add a Remote Script box to your guide.
  • Click Add/Edit the Remote Script URL.
  • Paste the URL.
  • Click Process.

If you chose JavaScript...

  • Add a Rich Text box to your guide.
  • Click add text.
  • Click the Plain Text Editor tab toward the top of the box.
  • Paste the JavaScript code.
  • Click Save Changes.
  • Refresh your page.

  1. Hi, I used the API utility for links to guides. I noticed that the bulleted list was not aligned at all! But I used the Plain Text Editor and added the css code "style="text-align: left;" to the end of the <div id> tag. It worked fine.
