Guide FAQ - Your LibGuides v1 Questions. Answered!

How co I add line breaks in the description section of a book in a Books from Catalog box?

For example, I want to add multiple snippets from book reviews or my own comments, but all the text is running together.

Great questions! There are two ways to accomplish this:

1. Simply hit enter! The Description field can now display line breaks using the Enter key or hitting Shift+Enter on your keyboard.

2. The description field does handle HTML so if you'd like, you can try adding a <br /> tag wherever you want a link break. Check out the diagram below.

One word of caution, add in the line-breaks at the very end of your editing. Otherwise, if you Save and then attempt to re-edit the description, the <br /> tags will disappear.
