Answer

You can hide the search box, but it'll hide it for your entire site. If that's cool with you, then:

  • Head to the Dashboard
  • Select Admin Stuff > Look & Feel
  • Go to Custom JS/CSS Code box, & add this code

<style>
.lgsearch { display: none; }
</style>

To hide it on your homepage ONLY but have it display on your guides;

  • Head to the Dashboard
  • Select Admin Stuff > Look & Feel
  • Go to Custom JS/CSS Code box, & add this code
<style>
.stitle {display:none;}
#guide_tab_title_bar {display:block;}
</style>

  1. It would be nice if we were able to customize the search box at least at the group level. I have different default choices for various groups and there are some groups where I don't want a search box at all.

  2. Hi, Connie!
    You can use the instructions above to hide the search box on a group page. Go to ADMIN STUFF > Groups and click the screwdriver and wrench icon next to the relevant group name. Then add the code above to the Custom JS/CSS box on the Look & Feel tab.

    As for your request for customizing the search, I'l add your name to our tracking system. We'll be in touch if we add that capability. :)
