How do I hide the content just under my guide tabs?

Like the page title, libguides search box, etc.

Admins can hide the content right under the tabs, but it'll be hidden for your entire site. If that's cool with you, then all you need to do is:

  • Head to the Dashboard
  • Select Admin Stuff -> Look and Feel
  • Scroll to the box called Custom JS/CSS Code
  • Paste in the relevant Style code (listed below) & click Save Changes

This code will hide the page title, page comments, and search box on all guides:

.stitle { display:none; }
#tabs12 { margin-bottom:5px; }

and will render guides that look like this:

To hide just the page title, but keep search box, printing function and page-level comments:

.guide_tab_title_bar_page_name {display: none;}

  1. Is there a way to hide it on individual guides, but keep the whole thing - or at least the search box - on the main libguides page?

  2. Hi Ellen - Kind of! If you're interested in hiding that line, but keeping the search box, there are a couple of ways to build a LibGuides search box and embed it in a Rich Text box. We have an API call that generates a LibGuides search, or we can provide you with the form code for an LG search that will contain the same drop-down options as on your site (I'll email you offline with that code).

  3. Hi Sarah, I have pasted the bottom code into the Custom JS/CSS code but the page title remains. Can you please tell me how to hide it. I would like the search box to remain which is why I couldn't use the top code. Many thanks. Ellen

  4. Hi Ellen -
    To hide just the page title, use this code instead:

  5. Hi,
    I'd also like to hide the page title but keep the search box. I already tried the code above, but the title remains. Also, I unfortunatly can't see the code Ken posted.
    Can you help me?
    Many thanks! Mathilde

  6. Hi Mathilde,You should be able to hide the page name by using the following code - #guide_tab_title_bar_page_name {display: none; }
