How do I upload a PowerPoint

Hi there! There are two ways you can upload a Powerpoint to your guide.

1. Using the Documents & Files Box Type

  1. Click Add New Box.
  2. Choose Documents & Files as the box type, give it a name, and click Create Box.
  3. When the box appears on your page, click Add a new File.
  4. Give the document a title and description (optional). Then click browse to find the file on your computer. Choose the file and click Open (or simply double click the file).
  5. Click Save Document.

Your file should now appear in your Documents & Files box.

Note: Files must be no larger than 5MB each. If your file is larger than 5MB, try breaking it into multiple files or upload it to a server at your library or a file sharing site.

2. Embedding it within your Guide

First you're going to need to upload it somewhere SlideShare or Flickr, Picasa or any other photo sharing site that allows you to create/embed slideshows.

Once it's been uploaded, embed it in your Guide just like you would a video:

  1. Find the embed code for your presentation.
  2. Log in to your LibGuides system and go to your guide.
  3. Create a new box for your presentation. You can create either a rich text box or an embedded video box.
    • If using a Rich Text Box:
      • Click the Add Text link.
      • Click Plain Text Editor link at the top of the box.
      • Paste the embed code in the Plain Text Editor box.
      • Click Save Changes.
    • If using an Embedded Video Box:
      • Click the Embed a Video Clip link.
      • Paste the embed code in the Embed URL box.
      • Click Embed It.
  4. Share your presentation!
