Guide FAQ - Your LibGuides v1 Questions. Answered!

How can I embed videos from Films on Demand in a guide so that they play for off campus users?

Videos from Films on Demand play perfectly on campus in an Embedded Media & Widgets box, but off campus they only show a log in screen.

Films on Demand is a subscription service used by many libraries. Users have to be authenticated to view embedded videos from Films on Demand, either through IP range or by logging in.

Films on Demand does provide a content widget that can show previews of one or more videos without authentication. The widget, which can be embedded in LibGuides, includes links for users to log in and view the full video.

Check with the administrator of your library's Films on Demand account for information about and access to the content widget.
