(This may say "Browse by Librarian" or some other word based on how you've customized your system.)

Hide browse by librarian line on homepage

  1. Head to Admin Stuff > Look & Feel
  2. Scroll down to the section labeled Custom JS/CSS Code and paste the following:

    #browsec .resdesc { display: none; }
  3. Click Save Custom JS/CSS

That's it! You're done. :)

  1. Does this work the same for "Browse by Librarian?"
    by David Woolard on Mar 28, 2012.
  2. Hi David - Yes, as long as you're talking about the line at the top of the "Browse by Subject" box on your homepage. The word "author" can be customized in your system, so that word may differ depending on how your system has been customized.

  3. Can the browse all guides page (with the 'browse all guides', 'browse by subject', and 'browse by librarian' tabs) be turned off/on or customized?
    by Jennifer on May 03, 2012.
  4. Hi Jennifer -
    Apologies, but it's not possible to customize that page at this time. Your best bet is to hide the system links to that area, then use the API options to create new guide browse options.

  5. Is it now possible to customize the 'browse all guides' page? We just want to modify the title so it changes with the tabs. Thanks!
    by Maura on Mar 07, 2013.
  6. Hi, Maura!
    I'm afraid it's still not possible to customize this page. I see that you already have a box on your main page that links directly to different tabs in the browsing page--that's still your best bet. :(

    I'm sorry we couldn't be more help on this one.
