Guide FAQ - Your LibGuides v1 Questions. Answered!

Is there a system-wide setting to keep profiles from displaying on all guides?

We use the 'add user profile' as a box option to get profiles where and on what pages we want. The problem is that when we create new guides we have to click the "hide user profiles" link on every page of every new guide. Is there a system-wide setting to keep profiles from ever displaying in the first place?

There is no system-wide setting, but there is a guide-wide setting you can use!

Instead of clicking on Remove Profile or Show Profile on every page in the guide, you can use the toggle option in the Guide Look & Feel menu.

You'll want to do this after you've added all of the pages to your guide, though...if you add more pages after, you'll need to hide the ones on the new pages as they're added (or go through this process again).

  1. Go to Guide Look & Feel > Toggle Profile Boxes.
  2. Choose whether to Show or Hide all profile boxes.
  3. You'll see a message at the bottom of the box letting you know that all profiles will be shown/hidden for that guide.
  4. Click Close.
